NEW COUNTRY MANAGER AT RuB K.K.
NEW ENTRY: s35 mini ISO F (Rp) x BSPT M (R)
Specific industry segments are lately requiring special versions of mini ball valves. As a leader of miniature valve producer, RuB decided to support these inquiries:
Please ask for additional information to your Area Sales Manager.
s.35 with F thread (Rp) and Male thread BSP (R) in sizes 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2” are now available on demand!
This new configuration is available both with standard nylon wedge handles and with metal handles (for an enhanced temperature range up to 120°C!) in different colors.
Please ask for additional information to your Area Sales Manager.
MULTIFUNCTION s.73 VALVES: 3-WAY 4-SEATS FULL PORT BALL VALVE MANUAL AND ACTUATED 1/2" THRU 1": ALREADY AVAILABLE IN STOCK
These L-port and T-port 3-way valves are an ideal choice for piping design involving diverting, blending or mixing applications:
L-port: the ability of multi-ported valves to divert, blend or segregate fluid flows, offers creative process engineering and cost savings. The valves may be installed in series, operating in sequence or working simultaneously.
T-port: for blending, diverting and segregating in process industries. The versatility of the flow patterns illustrated opens up significant opportunities for highly cost effective system design. The valves may not only be used singly to connect three different flows, but also in series, sequentially or in tandem and crossover assemblies. Easily actuated for remote control systems.
Additional peculiarities of the RuB 3-way s.73 product line are:
- Full port
- 4-seats
- Compact design
- ISO 5211 flange
Our multi-port valve s.73 thus reduces number of valves required in piping system; that will lower overall costs by allowing the replacement of two or three conventional straight-line valves, eliminating excess fittings and simplifying automation.
In certain situations, a single multi-port valve can replace several 2-way valves to reduce expense, simplify automation and conserve space. The multi-port valves have a ball seal at every port, and offer a wide variety of possible flow configurations. Positive shutoff can be achieved on any of the exiting ports. By specifying the appropriate ball port configuration, flow direction can be adjusted for virtually any application.
s.73 1/2” through 1” is already available from stock: kindly contact your Area Manager for additional information.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
- None of our product lines has been discontinued in 2013,
- RuB produces on a regular basis its complete range,
- No change in series designation has been made,
- Our products are of 100% Italian origin, produced in our plant in Ciliverghe di Mazzano (BS) Italy with state of the art equipment and processes and going through our unique 100% 24h seal test! Please see ‘ClonedRuB valves are not the original RuB valves' here.

FULL PORT, REDUCED PORT... AND STANDARD?
FULL PORT, REDUCED PORT... AND STANDARD?
One of the features that differentiates valves is the diameter inside the ball. The bigger this diameter is, the higher the flow capacity; smaller diameters reduce the amount of flow passing through the valve and may also create noise, turbulence and drop of pressure which could affect the overall performance of the whole system. In the common language of valves, there are typically 3 distinct families of flow diameters:
One of the features that differentiates valves is the diameter inside the ball. The bigger this diameter is, the higher the flow capacity; smaller diameters reduce the amount of flow passing through the valve and may also create noise, turbulence and drop of pressure which could affect the overall performance of the whole system. In the common language of valves, there are typically 3 distinct families of flow diameters:
- In the full port ball valve (also named full bore) the design provides no restriction of flow when the valve is fully opened. This means obviously that the hole in the ball is of the same size as the pipeline: for example a 1” full port ball valve will be compatible with a 1” pipeline as it will have a DN 25 mm valve opening inside the ball. **
When a full port valve is in the open position, it’s like having a straight passage of flow with minimal pressure drop.
When a full port valve is in the open position, it’s like having a straight passage of flow with minimal pressure drop.
- In the reduced port (or reduced bore) ball valves, the opening in the ball is smaller than full port valves. Actually, it is precisely one size smaller. For instance, a 1” reduced port valve has a DN 20 mm size ball opening – same flow diameter as a 3/4” full port valve.
- In between full and reduced port is the standard port (also called nominal port); in this case flow is not full, but it is not so restricted as in the reduced port ball valves neither.
** But please pay attention: different standards do rule in different areas in the world setting different port definitions: for example in Europe a ½” ball valve to be full bore should have port 15 mm, and 14,5 is already considered a standard port. In USA on the contrary, a ½” ball valve, according to the US Standard Practice, with 12,7 mm port is full port!
When choosing a ball valve, we always recommend you to look at product datasheets, taking into account the specific application. In any case please feel free to contact your RuB Area Manager for clarification.
RuB People Think LEAN – 5S METHOD
RuB People Think LEAN – 5S METHOD
5S is the name of a workplace organization method that uses a list of five Japanese words:
seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and shitsuke, translated into English: Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize and Sustain
Sorting: Eliminate all the ‘unnecessary’, keep only the essential items and eliminate what is not required, prioritizing things per requirements and keeping them in easily-accessible way.
Straightening or Setting in Order to Flow: Arrange the work, workers, equipment, parts, and instructions in such a way that the work flows free of waste, eliminating the non-value added time and allowing the zero defect philosophy to take place.
Systematic Cleaning: Clean the workspace and all equipment, and keep it clean, tidy and organized, to have the workstation always ready for next user.
Standardize: Ensure uniform procedures and setups throughout the operation to promote interchangeability.
Self Discipline: Ensure disciplined adherence to rules and procedures to prevent backsliding
5S is implemented as standard practice in RuB, with people involved from all departments, see updates at www.rubpeoplethinklean.com

RuB PEOPLE THINK LEAN
A PROJECT TO GROW
Our family company has grown through the years, aiming with ambition to be the best in terms of technology, product and customer service. Silvio Bonomi teaches us, "I have always believed in three essential factors to sell in world markets”:
1) Make quality products
2) Offer competitive prices
3) Meet delivery dates required by customer
Even if the world is continuously changing, these factors are always up-to-date because this is what customers demand. The way to achieve such objectives has substantially changed through time. In the old days, it was enough to have the latest piece of equipment; now efficiency, timeliness, accuracy, professionalism and speed of executing processes are required from each individual employee and the company's success is based upon
Value of People
A glitch in the process puts at risk the work of everyone and that is why
everyone must strive to act immediately to eliminate any waste. Everyone has to
give the best of him- or herself as part of a greater team effort. The world is
constantly changing and improving does not mean that we just keep doing things
well, but, most important, it means we adapt to new requirements. One must
understand what the new requirements are and must respond with enthusiasm and brilliance
to find solutions that others do not have, allowing us to better meet the needs
of the customer.
Our products are successful worldwide for their quality and reliability. We know ourselves well and we know that there is still room for improvement: such improvement requires the joint efforts of each and all of us at RuB. Together, we will make it.
Our products are successful worldwide for their quality and reliability. We know ourselves well and we know that there is still room for improvement: such improvement requires the joint efforts of each and all of us at RuB. Together, we will make it.
The LEAN project we have started is a route that leads far ahead. It is a
constructive way to get people working together towards a common goal and a way
of thinking and acting that will help us emerge further in the market.
Energy, passion, mutual trust, professional and personal growth. These are our values.
We work every day with professionalism and motivation and we are aware that we are producing not only valves, but also building our future.
Silvio, Luciano and Sandro Bonomi
------------------------------------------------------------------
What does “RuB people think LEAN”
mean?
The word LEAN can be translated into Italian by using the term "SNELLO"
(slim), but certainly
we're not talking about the 'latest revolutionary diet to lose weight’...
The LEAN way of thinking is actually a way to conceive, organize and carry out
the work
in a LEAN way, hunting all possible
wastes and terminate them.
This allows everyone to "do more
and do better with less", to add value to each
action and to provide answers and higher value products to our customers at a lesser cost.
To achieve this goal we will rely on some of the technics studied and applied
with excellent
results in other companies in the past, but the key to success is that RuB
people assume a different attitude in LIVING
their experience at RuB.
The best
results are those coming from team work.
If we all agree with this statement we must adopt a new behavior that
confirms every day that we are a team. Some
will say that in our environment there is a certain lack of motivation, lack of
interest and even unwillingness or inability to assume their responsibilities. If this was the case in the past, then moving
forward, ALL are called onto a new
attitude that leads us straight to the heart of things, an attitude that makes
us answer to some fundamental questions in any business activity we perform:
what is the real value that is expected from my work? What quality is expected
from the product I am working on? What kind of support can I offer for the
continuous improvement of my work and that of my colleagues? How can I
contribute to grow my company?
If we compare RuB to a tree, we know that to pick good fruit, the tree must
have good roots.
The roots of a company are PEOPLE.
The roots of RuB are all of US.
